What a Year!
One year in Texas. What a difference!
I now think of 85 degrees as a cool day.
I now realize that it's impossible to get all my home improvement tasks completed in one afternoon.
I have a whole new perception of driving distances.
I have found that international, as in San Antonio International Airport, means Mexico City or Denver or Houston. Period.
Since I published my last blog--Learning to Live with a Lone Star--I haven't written anything. What's kept me so busy?
A brief list:
- Weaving - 2 nights a week
- Contra dancing
- Business trips to Princeton, St. Petersburg (FL), Denver, and Princeton again
- Business trips within Texas--Houston (4 hours away), Dallas (5 hours away), Corpus Christi (two and a half hours away) and Austin (right next door--only an hour and a half drive)
- Sierra Club camping: Devil's River, Guadalupe State Park, Enchanted Rock
- Painting the bathroom
- Making drapes
- Going to plays (lots of theatre/art activity here in San Antonio)
- South Padre Island
- Rearranging my books
- Growing tomatoes and herbs
- Feeding the gluttonous birds in my backyard
- Iyengar yoga (it took me almost a year to find an iyengar class here)
- Driving around and checking out some of the artsy local towns: Boerne and Fredricksburg
See the following photos for expansion/fuller descriptions/more information on above.
